New Build NHS Hospital - Building for the future with Kingsway Door Systems

Kingsway Group as leaders in anti-ligature door systems were specified as the door system supplier for the patient area doors on this 74-bed new-build mental health hospital for the NHS.

The SWITCH anti-barricade door system was selected for it's speed of opening in a barricade situation and the way it improves staff safety by allowing them to stand in the 'green-zone' when dealing with an emergency incident. Watch the video of the SWITCH door system HERE.

For the en-suite patient shower rooms the STOW door system was used – this allows the door to fold back into a pocket in the wall and be safely locked when the patient is deemed too unwell to have control of their bathroom door.  Watch the video of the STOW door system HERE.

All Switch and Stow door sets were supplier with the Kingsway Ligature Monitor - this was fully co-ordinated onsite into the staff attack alarm system to provide one SMART system which provides staff an additional level of safety and ligature risk reduction.
