Meet the Team: Heath Wiggins, Project Consultant

Today we are pleased to begin a new ‘Meet the Team’ series, inviting members of the Kingsway team to the blog for a chat about them and their roles within Kingsway. The series gets underway with our Project Consultant here in Australia, Heath Wiggins.

Heath has been a core part of the Kingsway team in Australia since we launched here at the beginning of last year. We’re proud to have him on board helping to build relationships and support our partners in improving safety and reducing risk within mental health care facilities.

Hi Heath, great to have you with us today. To start, which countries does your role at Kingsway cover?

My role as Project Consultant at Kingsway Group covers Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific Region. Working across different countries provides a great opportunity to learn more about the systems in each country, the challenges they face, and how we can support our partners more effectively.

When did you start working for Kingsway Group and what attracted you to the role?

I started at Kingsway in January 2022, I saw the role as an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone into a new industry that provides our frontline health workers with the tools and technology to improve patient safety and save lives.

What’s your biggest ambitions for the role?

To become an indispensable employee that delivers results for our partners on time, every time. I think if we all achieve this, then together we will deliver exceptional service to our partners and in turn help maximise safety across mental health facilities.

Tell me about your work background, skills and experience?

I come from a background in business planning and advisory positions, along with experience in sales and procurement. My role at Kingsway sees me bring all my experience into one place, in a role that’s rewarding in the knowledge we are having a positive impact on people.

What’s the biggest challenge in your role?

As the area I oversee covers a large space geographically, the biggest challenge is probably keeping the flow of open communication with my colleagues across multiple international time zones. We are often in communication with our UK counterparts too, which presents its challenges at times but is great for sharing ideas and ensuring we maximise the quality of our service for our partners.

Which colleagues do you work most closely with in your role?

On the day to day I work most closely with Dan Holman, who is our Operations Manager for Australia, and Marcus Davies, our Project Manager here in Australia. And as mentioned before, I’m in contact with the UK team regularly too.

What’s been your favourite / most interesting project to date with Kingsway?

I think the Joondalup project has been my favourite so far. It was interesting overcoming door width challenges to make a fully compliant door with a single leaf to increase safety and reduce ligature risk.

Thanks for chatting today, Heath. To round off, what are your interests and passions outside of work?

My pleasure. Spending time with family and friends, and general social life activities. I also have a very keen interest in aircraft and aviation.
