As thought-leaders in innovative door systems, after having successfully completed over 2,000 projects in UK mental health hospitals, we are now offering a complete end-to-end service that fills a much needed gap in door system safety.

Our unique, tried and tested project approach of ‘Design, Develop, Deliver’ has long been used to deliver excellent results in ensuring our clients receive door systems that meet the project criteria, improve safety and reduce risk. We are delighted to be expanding this service to include 'Install' and 'Maintain', filling a gap that has perhaps been incomplete, which could have led to potentially fatal consequences.

Our existing three-staged approach to door design gives an excellent framework for any design team and runs as follows:

Design
Listening to our clients’ specific requirements, and taking them through carefully crafted design questions, we tease out even the finest of details. And by bringing to the table over 600 successfully completed mental health doorset projects, we are able to suggest features or solutions that you may not have known were possible.

Define
Your design begins to come to life. Using our collaborative innovation skills, we work with all the project stakeholders to define the door package and ensure a joined-up design. We check back to your design questions to ensure the package continues to meet your requirements, and if these have changed, we are flexible about developing a fitting solution.

Deliver
This is where we make it happen. Our large team of skilled production experts work to manufacture the complete pre-hung door systems in our Kent based purpose-built production facility. Strict project scheduling ensures an on-time delivery to site. Installation is discussed and arrangements are made to suit site requirements. Our considerable experience means that we are sensitive to the complexities of installations in new-build projects, refurbishments, and live settings.

After working through this three-step process for over 2,000 projects it has become obvious that there is still two further important steps in the process which Kingsway Group is now pleased to offer:

Install

Correct installation of life-safety products is critical to their correct operation, and anti-ligature door systems are no exception to this rule.

Whilst full training and on-site support can be given to third party installation teams, Kingsway Group are pleased to now provide an employed installation team which offers complete certification and gives our clients peace-of-mind that this stage of project is a success.

This new joined-up approach overcomes the following known problem areas:

• Clear communication with Kingsway Group being the point of contact for the whole process – this leads to increased accountability and ownership of the project.

• Kingsway Group are BM Trada ‘Q’ installation certified installers which enables the door to be marked accordingly – the complete end-to-end certification.

• The installers from Kingsway Group are fully trained in working in secure environments and are flexible with working in mental health wards; where working times can change depending on the ward conditions.

• Fire stopping and gaps around the door are correct; and all hardware checked and signed-off by us at the end of the project for a snag-free handover.

Maintain

Fire door maintenance has been a long-establish requirement in public buildings, and when coupled with anti-ligature hardware this leads to a unique requirement for correct door maintenance in mental health environments.

The maintenance package now provided by Kingsway Group is based on the BM Trada door maintenance scheme of which we are a qualified member. The scheme has been designed to provide reassurance to NHS Trusts and hospital operators that the product they have chosen has been maintained correctly and that it should perform exactly as intended.

Our maintenance package can be tailored to the level of your requirements and covers:

• Annual package to inspect every complete door system supplied by Kingsway Group and conduct:

     - 10-point health check for fire door safety compliance
     - 10-point health check for door function and anti-barricade operation
     - Visual check and photographic record held on our systems

• Comprehensive post visit report, with a green, yellow or red traffic light coding to show which doors are passed, potential non-compliance or non-compliance.

• Detailed list of action items highlighting the requirements to ensure all doors are compliant, including all costs. All customers with a maintenance package receive exclusive preferential parts pricing.

• Any new door systems supplied during the maintance contract period will be automatically added to a revised maintenance contract, ensuring all Kingsway Group supplied door systems are maintained to the same standard.
